Longevity is the Foundation of Sustainability

It’s all the little things that add up to something great, and everything we make has an impact on the natural world, which is why I source premium materials from world-renowned manufacturers with integrity and pride.

Vegetable Tanned Leather

Vegetable tanned leather is the oldest form of leather tanning, and is an artisan tradition that uses natural bark tannins to process the leather instead of toxic chemicals, making it the most eco friendly way to tan leather. It’s labor intensive, and requires 6 weeks of processing by highly skilled artisans, but yields a leather hide full of character and durability like no other. There’s truly nothing like it -the natural look, the buttery feel, and the amazing smell. What’s more, vegetable tanned leather develops a gorgeous patina and will darken and soften as it ages, so your bag will look better and better through the years. The American and Italian tanneries that I use are world renowned and have stood the test of time.

Hardware

All my hardware that I use is sourced from a fourth generation hardware manufacturer specializing in high quality solid brass hardware. Brass is an alloy of copper and zinc, and the color and finish of the piece depends on the ratio of copper and zinc used. I’ve proudly sourced a beautifully finished satin brass that is durable and won’t easily fade or tarnish.

Premium Zippers

There’s nothing more frustrating than a sticky (or broken) zipper on a beautiful bag. I have finally sourced a gorgeous luxury grade zipper, made right here in America. It’s crafted from gold plated brass (which glides better than brass alone), and you’ll definitely feel and see the difference.
